His office coordinates new student orientation as well as the annual graduation ceremony. Prior to his appointment as Dean, he was the executive assistant to Lehman's President for Community and Governmental Affairs from 1993-1996.
A graduate of the State University of New York at Binghamton, Mr. Magdaleno earned his master's degree in social work from Columbia University. He began his career in higher education at Montclair State University in New Jersey, where he served as an Academic Advisement Coordinator for the Schools of Business Administration and Professional Studies, as the University's Test Center Coordinator, and as Assistant Director of its Career Services office.
Prior to this, Mr. Magdaleno was a counselor and clinical social worker, providing support and services for a variety of clients, including foster children and their families, displaced auto workers, and patients with a history of mental illness. A certified School Social Worker, he has been a member of the Advisory Board for the Hispanic Institute for Applied Psychology, as well as the New Jersey Governor's Committee on Children's Services Planning.
