Golden Key Lehman Chapter

Ever since I started going to college, excelling as a student and a leader and volunteering to make my surrounding environments better have become extremely important to me. Working hard to achieve those goals gave me a reason to be the very best version of myself. Receiving an invitation to join Golden Key International Honour Society in my sophomore year made me feel as if my diligence was being recognized and rewarded. Not only am I among the top 15% of my graduating class, I have access to scholarships, internships and I have the daily opportunity to strengthen my resume. Becoming a member of Golden Key also presented me with the opportunity to work with other students to partake in community service and prove myself in a leadership position. Now, as the President of the Lehman Chapter, I get to work with a great team of officers, advisors, and students who help me realize everyday how amazing it is to be a part of this society. Please, join the Lehman Chapter in continuing to make it possible for students to become conscious of their potential.

With warm regards,

Kewe Mbengue
President, Golden Key Lehman College

My name is Jose Pichardo former Co-President of Golden Key Lehman Chapter.

Golden Key to me is:

  • Community
  • Team Work
  • Service
  • Effort

I became part of Golden Key International Honour Society on November of 2007.  I felt a sense of accomplishment when becoming part of the Lehman Chapter, and believe in its service to the Lehman Campus and the community at large.

We work very hard to serve our campus and our community, and assisting the 2009 Regional Conference has opened my eyes to the idea that Golden Key is part of a larger community, that I am part of a larger community, as I was able to meet and exchange ideas with many of my fellow Golden Key members from other chapters in the Northeast.

Team Work

An individual can make a difference, but if we work together we can have a larger positive impact on the world around us.  Although I am one of the leaders of the Lehman Chapter, our service could not be possible without a very-hard working Officers, our Chapter Advisors and Golden Key members devoted to our cause.

Golden Key members have been chosen for their academic achievement, I am committed under the Golden Key organization to help others fulfill their potential, and that is why promoting literacy is very important, by not only promoting books, and the use of the printed and written word, but also helping people in the community develop the skills needed to succeed.

As a full-time commuter student with a part-time job I have found it quite challenging carrying out our Chapter’s projects to serve the community, raising funds for the Lehman Chapter, and increasing our visibility on campus, but I have found it most rewarding, as I have encountered people who are willing to work with, and help the Chapter grow.

Join us in improving our community; you will develop practical skills for the future as you help others to do the same.
