APEX Lights Will Dim on Saturday for 'Earth Hour'

Lehman College will vote for the earth this Saturday when it turns out the lights at 8:00 p.m. in its sports and recreation building, The APEX, and joins in "Earth Hour" with other organizations in NYC and over 80 countries.

"Earth Hour," sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund, aims to raise awareness about environmental sustainability and help make the planet greener.

Students, faculty, staff, and other observers are encouraged to document this event at Lehman with photographs and commentaries, which can be sent to earth.hour@lehman.cuny.edu, and to share their efforts on the many Earth Hour social networking sites. The Sustainable CUNY Project will make contributions to one or more College Scholarship Funds in honor of outstanding campus submissions.

A slide show of CUNY's Earth Hour will be posted on the Sustainable CUNY website, and a special edition electronic newsletter focused on "Where were you when the lights went out?" will capture CUNY's best efforts and broadcast them to the public.

The lights will be switched back on at 9:30 p.m.
