Lehman Chamber Players to Present Free Concert March 16
Critically acclaimed violinist Alexander Meshibovsky and pianist Diana Mittler-Battipaglia will perform Strauss's Sonata in E flat Major opus 18, and Franz Mittler's Sonata in D Major. Oboist Alan Hollander will present works by Telemann, Andriessen, Still, and Bozza. The program will also include Hungarian Dances by Brahms and Tzigane by Ravel.
Professor Meshibovsky, who teaches violin at Lehman, studied with Heifetz and has appeared as a soloist with major European and American orchestras. Prof. Mittler-Battipaglia is on the Lehman music faculty and also directs Lehman's College and Community Chorus. Professor Hollander has appeared as a conductor and soloist in the metropolitan area and is on the faculty of both Hofstra University and Lehman, where he conducts the Lehman College and Community Band and performs with the Lehman Woodwind Quintet.
