Student Club Explores Asian Culture and Beauty in NYC

A Japanese Kiku (Chrysanthemum) garden at the New York Botanical Garden.
The Lehman College Asian Cultural Exchange (ACE) has been busy lately, exploring both Chinese and Japanese culture around New York City. ACE members organized a trip to see "Chinese New Year Splendor" at Radio City Music Hall on February 7 and visited the New York Botanical Garden last semester to see the Japanese Kiku (Chrysanthemum) Festival. The club received $1,000 in funds from the student government to take 75 students to the event.
"Many of the students in my Japanese classes took advantage of this trip and went to the garden," said Professor Asako Tochika, ACE faculty adviser. "They were truly impressed and enjoyed the traditional art of Japan."
