Lehman Athletes Shine On and Off the Playing Field

Daniel Gurdak

Sally Nnamani
In addition to being a leader for his Lehman Cross Country, Indoor, and Outdoor Track and Field team, Gurdak is a leader in the outdoors. Recently, he was awarded the Ranger Award from the Boy Scouts of America's Venturing program. The award recognizes those who have achieved a high degree of proficiency in several challenging outdoor and adventure activities.
In other news, the National Invitation Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers Association have named Lehman sophomore Sally Nnamani a first team All-Met All-Star. Nnamani, who was also named 2006-2007 CUNY Conference Player of the Year, averaged 20.2 ppg while leading the women's basketball team to its first-ever CUNY Championship and a subsequent match in the 2007 NCAA Division III national tournament.
"This is a great honor for Sally," said Women's Basketball Head Coach Eric Harrison, "and a perfect ending to a fantastic season for both Sally and our Lightning squad."
