NMR Expert Holds Workshops at Lehman

Dr. Eugene Mazzola of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently visited the campus to hold a five-part workshop on nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). An international expert in NMR, Dr. Mazzola has published extensively, including a recent book with Joseph B. Lambert, entitled Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy: An Introduction to Principles Applications, and Experimental Methods. The book served as a basis for his workshop at Lehman, which was attended by graduate students and Lehman AMP students. The AMP program (Alliance for Minority Participation) is a project of the National Science Foundation that provides funds and encouragement to underrepresented minorities who are studying science, mathematics, engineering, or technology. Lehman's AMP Coordinator Ainsley Parkinson is currently working on a project with Dr. Mazzola and Lehman's Biological Sciences Chair Dr. Edward Kennelly.
