Lehman College Community Band to Present Free Holiday Concert Dec. 17
Directed by Professor Alan Hollander, the performance will also feature Philip Sparke's Shalom Suite of Israeli folk songs, including the newly published works Symphonic Fanfare, Hymn to the Infinite Sky, and Divinum Mysterium, an arrangement of a thirteenth-century plainsong by Tom Wallace. Rounding out the program will be Huckleberry Finn, a suite of programmatic scenes inspired by Mark Twain's classic tale, Leonard Bernstein's Slava, and Charles Duble's march Old Glory Triumphant. The community band includes students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members.
