Uncle Vanya, one of Chekhov's four major plays, was first produced by the Moscow Art Theatre and directed by the famed Constantin Stanislavsky. Often called a tragicomedy, the play revolves around a retired university professor and his beautiful young wife who visit relatives on their country estate, disrupting everyone's lives and routines.
Directed by Lehman Professor Brian Leahy Doyle, the play was translated by Curt Columbus and features original music by Michael Dilthey. The cast includes both students and professionals.
