Lehman Students Receive NHBG Scholarship
Originally from Puerto Rico, Rodriguez is a junior, majoring in business administration with a concentration in human resources. Her grades earned her a spot on the Dean's List in 2005. She said that she was honored and surprised to be chosen from among so many students to receive the NHBG award.
For Lugo, a computer information system major who hopes to someday open his own business, the scholarship represents an opportunity to meet and learn from established Hispanic business leaders. Next June, Lugo will be the first in his family to graduate from college.
The NHBG offers scholarships to students who are enrolled in two- or four-year colleges or universities and are pursuing business and business-related degrees. Undergraduates may receive up to $625 per semester for their last two years of study.
Founded in 1985 by a group of prominent Hispanic entrepreneurs, the NHBG seeks to advance business opportunities for the Hispanic community. The organization has grown into an influential network of business leaders.
