Join Distinguished Lecturer Bob Stewart (Music) and his band, Trio Akimbo, on Wednesday, April 12, at 8 and 10 p.m. for an evening of live music at Sweet Rhythmn, located on 88 Seventh Avenue South in Manhattan.

Just off their first European tour, this is the ensemble's New York premiere. Inspired by the music of Benin, Trio Akimbo explores the color combinations of the eastern and western guitar through the virtuosity of band members Jerome Harris (guitar) and Abdou Mboup (percussion and cora). Special guests James Zollar (trumpet) and Gary Valente (trombone) will accompany the ensemble.
