Workshops to Be Held at Lehman for 'Administrative Professionals Week'
Originally known as "National Secretaries Week" when it was started in 1952 by the National Secretaries Association (currently the International Association of Administrative Professionals), "Administrative Professionals Week" recognizes administrators nationwide for their contributions to the workplace.
The theme for this year's recognition is "Innovation Advances Administrative Professionals." Three workshops will be offered on campus (see schedule below): "Basic Elements of Design" led by Publications Manager Barbara Cardillo of the Office of Media Relations and Publications, and "Advanced Microsoft Word Workshop" and "Introduction to Microsoft Powerpoint," both led by Library Technical Coordinator Raymond Diaz.
Those interested in attending any of the workshops should receive approval from their supervisors and then send an email to diversity.resources@lehman.cuny.edu, identifying the workshops they plan to attend. Supervisors should be copied on confirmation emails.

Tuesday, April 26
Introduction to Microsoft Powerpoint
Starting a Presentation: Entering and editing text in slides, modifying slides, creating a presentation, introduction to animation and adding headers. PowerPoint views: Moving a slide, adding speaker notes, controlling a slide show presentation, rehearsing slide show timing, adding transitions and sounds, inserting clip art and graphics. Inserting a table: inserting an organization chart, using Word to create a presentation output, using slide master to modify a presentation, creating hyperlinks.

Advanced Microsoft Word Workshop
Advanced Word functions such as the columns command, sort feature, macro feature; performing a word count; generating individual envelopes and a single sheet of labels; mail merge and other features.

Basic Elements of Design
Want to learn the do's and don'ts of basic design? Create brochures and flyers that are eye-catching, easy to read and appropriate for your audience? This seminar will focus on valuable "how-to" tips that will help you produce attractive, attention-getting publications. Bring samples of your work to share with the other seminar participants and for professional feedback.

CUNY ONLINE PROGRAM ON "PREVENTING SEXUAL HARASSMENT"
CUNY makes it easy to learn more about preventing sexual harassment. You can access an online program from your office or home computer that takes only a few minutes to complete. Understand what sexual harassment is and isn't and what each person can do to contribute to a harassment-free work and academic environment. Receive a certificate when you pass the Sexual Harassment Mastery test at the end of program.
To access the program: At the Lehman College home page, click on "About Lehman." On the drop-down menu, click on the button for "Administration" and then click on Human Resources. On the Human Resources page click on LINKS in the left-hand column, which will take you the Helpful Links page. Scroll down to the third option, "CUNY On-line Program: Preventing Sexual Harassment" and follow the instructions.
