SLAVIC LANGUAGES AND LITERATURE

Students in the Slavic section may elect one of two B.A. degree programs: the first is the Russian major, the second the interdepartmental Major in Comparative Literature. The curriculum in Russian offers students a variety of courses in Russian language and literature and Slavic literature and culture. The twofold aim of these carefully selected courses is to provide intellectual enrichment and to prepare students for a teaching career or graduate study. Students with previous knowledge of the Russian language must take a placement examination, given by a member of the faculty, before registering in any course.
