CUNY Logo spacer CUNY Launches New Undergraduate Admissions System on CUNYfirst
The City University of New York recently launched a new undergraduate application and admission system for freshmen and transfer students. The system, which now resides in CUNYfirst, is live for students applying for spring and fall 2019. The Colleges will have more control over the decision process, the ability to communicate with students in a more targeted manner and track students more easily through the entire enrollment process – from pre-applicant through enrollment. Applicants will be able to check the status of their applications and the admission decision in CUNYfirst. We are looking forward to this new functionality and will share other system benefits as we move through the implementation process.

Graphic for Panel,'Journalism in the Age of Disaster' spacer Journalism in the Age of Disaster: Puerto Rico, La Tormenta, The Truth and Making Sense One Year After Hurricane Maria
Thursday Oct 11, 12:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Music Building Recital Hall Room 306.
An assessment of the job journalism is doing covering Hurricane Maria and making sense of the antecedents to and after effects of the storm. What stories aren't being told? How can we reach more truth on Puerto Rico and Hurricane Maria? These and many other questions will be addressed by several esteemed journalists to our campus, from the New York Times, New York Public Radio, Centro Periodismo Investigativo, El Nuevo Dia and other publications.

This is an opportunity for our students - so many of whom were directly impacted by the storm and ongoing disaster- and a great chance to be involved in an important conversation with resonance far beyond campus. Please join and seriously consider bringing your students or directing them to attend.
