ESC 748: Teaching Problem Solving in Mathematics in Middle and High School.
3 hours, 3 credits. Introduction and application of heuristic techniques to facilitate mathematical problem solving in Grades 7-12; use of technology as a problem solving tool; assessment. Problems will be analyzed on both teacher and pupil levels. (Includes 25 hours fieldwork in grades 10, 11, and 12 for those with 5-9 certification seeking 7-12 certification). PREREQ: Calculus I and II.
