NUR 561: Gender Issues and Stress.
3 hours, 3 credits. The women's movement has produced a variety of social and personal changes for both men and women. This course will review stress theories and their application to some of the developing and current stressors for women and their partners. Consideration given to dual roles, superwoman syndrome, and differing spousal expectations as well as to stress-reduction techniques, such as self-awareness, stress management, and coping strategies.
