HIW 723: History of Africa to 1800.
3 hours, 3 credits. (Not open to students who have taken HIW 323.) Survey of African history from the earliest times to 1800. Beginning with the development of early human societies, the course will cover environmental, social, economic, political, and religious transformations before 1800.
