GEP 602: Biogeography and GISc.
5 hours(3, lecture; 2, lab), 4 credits. The methods and techniques used to examine the past and current distribution of organisms, in the context of geophysical, evolutionary, and ecological processes. Study of the geographic ranges of living organisms and discussion of numerous relevant topics. Lab work will provide students with hands-on experience using GISc to explore such concepts as species distribution, island biogeography, and community fragmentation.
