Ira D. Cohen
Ira D. Cohen has over 30 years of experience in the technology industry as an investment banker, private equity investor and Chief Financial Officer and has advised on more than 200 M&A transactions in the IT Services, Software and Internet sectors.
Prior to Signal Hill, Ira was the Managing Partner, President and Co-founder of Updata Advisors. On August 1, 2010, Updata Advisors merged into Signal Hill. Prior to founding Updata, Ira was the CFO and Treasurer of CGA Computer, Inc., and guided Tridex Corporation, an AMEX company, and Computer Magnetics, Inc., a NASDAQ company, through acquisitions, divestitures, financings and an IPO. He began his career with Laventhol and Horwath, a large international accounting firm.
Ira is a Certified Public Accountant and received an M.S. in banking and financial services from Boston University and a B.S. in accounting from City University's Herbert H. Lehman College in New York. He has completed Harvard Business School's Executive Education program for publicly-traded company Audit Committee Chairs. Since 1985, he has appeared in the Who's Who in Finance and Industry.
Ira is currently on the board of directors for a number of privately-held companies, including Signal Hill, and has previously served on the boards of several publicly-traded companies.
