(adapted from "tired" by shel silverstein)
I've been sleeping so much you just wouldn't believe,
And I'm tired!
There's so little energy and much to achieve,
And I'm tired!
I've been lying here with my heating pad in place,
Hoping all the meds don't break out my face,
Counting the hours until my next pain pill,
Not letting this disease break down my will.
I've been remembering the fun times I had,
Used to play baseball outside with my dad,
Watching the game from my bed on TV now,
All I have been through I should take a deep bow.
I've been taking my pills and drinking a lot,
And thinking about all that I've lost at got,
Waiting all day for the doctor to call,
Pacing, wishing I could go to the mall,
And I've taken hundreds of pills and had blood drawn,
And I'm TIRED!
