More letters!

Your web site is a delight, a veritable treasure trove for students, teachers, parents and caregivers. I am so impressed with the eloquence and the pure giving nature your site imparts...it shows the dedication you have!

I  am writing to congratulate you on your FANTASTIC WEB SITE!! I just finished most of the table of contents- I couldn't stop !   Your web page is an extremely, thoughtful, caring and thought provoking "Work of Art" !  I thoroughly enjoyed it! I really wanted you to know how impressed I am with your project-what a great idea!  I applaud you from both a nurse's and a mother's point of  view.

Wow! I really admire your web site. I haven't had the opportunity to look at all of your links but the colors and content is wonderful!! You are extremely creative and innovative! Congrats on a job well done!

Your Web site is wonderful. I can only imagine how the kids must appreciate your sensitive treatment of helping them deal with their diseases.

Just found your web site and listened to DAY DREAM WITH A DOLPHIN. HOW LOVELY AND MEANINGFUL. Thank you for being there. I am a nurse and have worked on the oncology unit for 18 years.

The web pages you put together on children with special needs is spectacular.  I have just started skimming the surface of your pond of knowledge.

What a great site. Thanks for all the kids and pediatric nursing faculty!!

Many thanks for a wonderful site!  We love it and spend so much time learning about stuff like the kids and the hospital and teasing and the daydreams!!!!

I just wanted to tell you how thrilled I was when I had the chance to visit your site tonight.  You have obviously put a lot of time, thought, heart, and effort into it and it shows.

You have done a fantastic job and I found your content so valuable!

I'm glad to see someone putting a positive outlook on everyday things. I'm a 15 year old teen who doesn't suffer from any of these things but I baby-sit for a small boy who has Hirshbrung's disease which is when your intestine doesn't function correctly.  I hope through sites like this people will learn to treat people with illnesses the same as anyone else.  I just wanted to say you're doing an excellent job of contributing to this.

I LOVE IT!    Great job!  Very unique, informative and interesting site! It made me smile too!

The thing that I really liked was that the whole site is written in language that kids of any age can relate to. I especially liked the stories from kids explaining their particular conditions best, especially  Thomas' story, because it talked about blood. My little boy Chris and I gave it  "two thumbs up".

Just wanted to let you know that this is really a great educational tool. Nice job!!!

I really enjoyed your site. It has very good information for all and very pleasing to the eye. I do believe children will benefit from it. The stories are great and I like the tips for nurses.

I have just been hopping through Bandaides & Blackboards, and I am very impressed!

I was so impressed with your site!  What a great idea... and how accessible in format with the frogs and ponds.

I really enjoyed the Tease busters.  I liked the song, and the pictures.  Thank  you for putting that on the web I liked it a lot, and I'm sure that other people will like it too.

Now, have all children's hospitals in the world got an internet terminal with a link to your site on their home page? It would be a definite improvement to a child's mental health during a routine sojourn to any health institution. You'd better see to it right away!

What a wonderful, wonderful page!

Congratulations on your nifty site.  I am a second grade teacher and am sure I will be using it in the near future.

You have a wonderful site!!!!

Great looking pages for a wonderful project!

What a marvelous site!  I've been asked to find links for our middle school health curriculum --which is in development.  ...and have spent much too much time on your site.  But how could I not?  Your message is clear and well done, with just enough of the artistic flair to make a difficult subject easier to swallow.  Thanks you to all the kids who helped and to you for designing such a great site!

You have done a superb job!

As a school counselor I was impressed with your site. It is always difficult for teachers to deal with serious illnesses of their students. Now I have your page for them to visit. Keep up the good work.

I just read your Dolphin Meditation and was deeply moved. It is truly beautiful.

I checked out your web page and read some of the children's
stories.  I think it is a great page and wonderful resource for people of all ages.  I think it would most benefit children to know
they aren't alone... also for teachers to use with their classrooms in getting children to understand individual differences.  Keep up the good work!

This site highlights the most incredible use of technology for an extremely worthwhile cause. Thanks!!

I am 9 years old and I have muscular dystrophy. I can't walk but have a wheelchair.  It's nice to know there are people out there that think about kids like us.  We are normal and love life as much as normal people do.  I am going to the beach this summer.

I  am truly impressed with this web site and wanted to commend you on your fine work.  It is nice to know to have this as a resource for parents and children who are admitted to the hospital. Keep up the good work…thank you!

You have done an outstanding job.  Please continue your work.  These kids are really something else and if there is anything we can do to help them, their family and those that love them then I say "Let's Do It" and your site is an excellent example.

Your home page is absolutely wonderful.  You put it all together so well!   You should have tips for Social Workers too!

Wow!!!  What an inspirational web site - the best I've ever visited.  As a teacher I too often see the taunts, teasing and bullying that takes place by children - especially if children are "different" than the majority.

I was very excited to find your site.  You are doing excellent work!

I just wanted to tell you that reading these pages made me cry. It's really amazing to think that somebody wants to educate kids about what it's like being sick. When you've got a disease like mine-one that doesn't show and one that a lot of people don't believe in, then it gets tough. So if a bunch of people could grow up understanding a bit about what it's like being chronically ill...well, it'd be a great thing! Blessings on you.

My goodness!  What a great website. Your site really shows the potential of the Internet in providing all sorts of much needed information. I especially appreciate the sections on how to help family members -parents, siblings - of kids with illnesses/ disabilities.  Thanks for creating & maintaining such an enormous and important site!

I just went to your Dolphin page you just wrote for children FANTASTIC....thanks for sharing.  I just sent the site address to several of my friends........a really great site

I just spent a lot of time looking at your web site. I am SOOO incredibly impressed - there is so much there from which not only I but the many kids and families with whom I work can benefit.

Just a brief note to let you know how much I enjoyed your wonderful web site.  My daughter Nicole has diabetes and enjoyed the site also.  Wewent on to read about kids with cystic fibrosis, cancer etc.  It was areal eye opener for her to see that there are all sorts of things otherkids have to deal with too!  Thank you for this site.

What a great job you have done giving children an opportunity to connect. Your site is creative, colorful and amusing!! I love the music. I didn't get a chance to review it all but spent a great deal of time going through a lot of it. Nice color--nice graphics.

What a DELiGHTFUL site.....one of the most creative I've ever
seen.....and such a wonderful idea...

You have treated sensitive material in a very caring way.

I wanted to let you know  how impressed we are concerning your web page(s)!!  These pages are very creative, interesting to watch and interact with.  As parents of a child with a chronic illness we werethrilled to see such a page.   While her condition is not lifethreatening, it has certainly been, and will continue to be, a learning experience and has been hard both for her and for us..  It is refreshingto have an outlet like this as well as an area where our daughter-age 4,can tell her story and where others will truly understand.

I'm glad you made the site because it taught me a lot about sicknesses and how to treat the people with them. I have always been interested in illnesses, and now for sure I want to become a doctor.

This site is amazing.  What a wonderful place for kids of all ages to visit and learn about illness, medicines, hospitals, etc.  I have spent way too much time on your site since it's so inspiring and moving.

What _fabulous_ pages and what a wonderful resource for young patients, their families, and health care pros. It seems to me that this is a really *great* use of the Web.

To create a platform of information and interaction for these kids is wonderful. Certainly the Web provides a excellent place for those of us with a handicap, whether its physical or psychological, if only for the anonymity it offers.

FANTASTIC web page !

From the insight you have shown in developing your website, I believe that your life and work has deeply touched other lives. That is what we are here for...Your kind of knowledge is not the kind that can be taught via books; it must be engraved upon the heart.  Thank you for having such an abundance of heart knowledge!

I'm so impressed with your work and your creativity in creating this site/resources based on your research.

I've just gone through the kids part of your pages and am feeling throat lumps and gotta stop for a bit.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I have really enjoyed reading the stories you have compiled. Incredible!!

I really enjoyed looking at your web pages and applaud your efforts.

You have truly made my day!

I 'happened' upon your web site while looking for sites to add to one I am doing for a class (special ed/technology, etc.)......... I absolutely LOVEthe way you have put things together.  Am I GLAD you did this!

Joan, your page will be a big help to those who are willing to listen and learn but as we all know, sometimes teachers are the hardest to teach.

What a beautiful meditation I could just sit and read over and over the same message.  That you for this peaceful moment with you!

Your site really touched my heart!

Thank you for your wonderful spirit.  There is so much healing in your words.

Thanks for giving a beautiful, positive, and fun Page for everyone's inquiries.

I just wanted to let you know that I love your web page, and the study that you are doing. It is one of the most creative projects I have seen.

What a super resource you've created!  Very impressive.  I just scanned over some of it..  but what I saw was great!

I would like to commend you on a wonderful site, both for it's subject matter and appearance!  You have tapped into issues surrounding childhoodillness that I have not found on the WWW - until now, that is!

I got to your site yesterday and am VERY impressed!!! I forwarded it to the other people working on our school homepage.  We'll definitely include it as a link for our homepage.  Our speech teacher said that she was moved to tears.... It is a great format for expression and learning about too often overlooked situations in school.

I really enjoyed this page!!!  I have to do a speech on teasing and
found this site while searching.  I just thought I should send you a note saying how impressed I am!!  I really like the music!  I believeyou have good morals!  I hope that this site has been visited by somekids who needed the info.

I am so glad that there is someone in this world that cares about
kids as you do. There are a lot of sick kids in this world today. And a lot of people don't want to take the time to try and make them feel betterwhen they are so sick. I have been to the Laboner hospital in MemphisTN. and the people there were so great to all the kids that were there. My nephew was there for awhile and they made him as comfortable aspossible during his stay. Again, I am very thankful to people like you.

We love your site! By the way, my wife and I both have cerebral palsy.  Tell the kids, there is a future.

I've been looking over your site this morning and I'm really impressed! You've done a lot of good work and a few things have touched me, especially the page on telling the kids the truth about their medical treatment.

I surfed onto this site and am extremely impressed.  I have a nine year oldgranddaughter who is quite healthy but I couldn't help but think how hard a serious illness would be...not only for her...but for all of her family as well. I am going to have her browse the site and hopefully it will increase her awareness and make her better able to deal with any illnessesthat might happen to her or someone that she knows.

This is just extraordinary....it is so very, very helpful!!!  Keep writing.  It is some of the best writing I've seen for parents on this issue....

I just wanted to tell you how nice your web page is.  I work at a public  library in the Youth Room and quite often get requests for books for kids or sibs who have health problems or disabilities.  I have already added your site to our page, and will spread the word of how good this will be for our patrons.  I would also love to see more for kids who have disabilities.

WOW, what a gold mine! This is a this great resource for kids, parents, health professionals and educators!

I liked the site and thought it was a good idea to cheer up kids and let everybody know about the diseases of these children at the same time.  The stories of the children were very sad to me since I heard them talk about leukemia and other diseases.  I liked hearing the poems and I tried to rap with them so my friend  and I didn't take the poems about diseases so hard. Overall, I think this website was a fabulous idea and I hope other kids learn about the kids in this site.

When reading the stories on your web site, I felt so sorry for the kids and I wanted to be their friend.  Their stories told exactly how they felt when they were in the operating room, or someone was just bothering them at school.  After reading the poems I thought of how lucky I am to be a healthy kid and to be able to go to school and just plain enjoy life.  Also while I was reading the poems my friend I were making raps out of the poems and they actually worked out!!!  Great poetry by the way!

Thanks for the on-line resources you so lovingly craft. They make an enormous difference.

Thank you so much for your wonderful website.  I have a child who has Bipolar Disorder (amongst other things) and this is the first time I have found something that clicked with him.  God bless you for helping families like ours.

Thank you so much for your innovative site on children's illnesses.  I began this quest for knowledge because I was interested in writing a paper on this subject for one of my classes.  What started out as merely a paper has become a true quest to know and understand how chronic illnesses affect the family.

I love your web site!  It is so interesting and it really catches children's attention.  There should be more people like you in this world that take the time out to help others in need.

...finally someone has recognized the need for input from children with chronic diseases, as well as a forum for them to speak with other kids. I applaud you resoundingly!!

I love your website! I am an RN as well as a Cub Scout leader. Thanks for all the great info. I have bookmarked your site for future reading. Keep up the great work and good luck!

I've just visited your "BandAids and Blackboards" site, and enjoyed it very much.  I think this will be a wonderful resource for children who are sick, as well as their parents, siblings, friends and teachers.

Bouquets to you for your creativity and sensitivity.

I want to congratulate you on your very impressive web site & your project. Your students & your patients are very fortunate to have such an innovative & creative nurse.

I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how much I am enjoying your web site.  I have been on it for approx. 3 hours and have not been able to go back to work.  As a woman who had Nephrotic Syndrome as a child 22 years ago I have never had the healing opportunity to listen to others who had the same feelings and emotions of being a sick child in and out of the hospital. Thank you.

Je ne sais pas si quelqu'un lit le français, mais ce site fait pitié.

I was helping a friend find info for her daughter, when I came across this wonderful site...so many great pages I have sent out to other family members. I am so impressed, you must be an angel! Thank you for creating this great site.  I look forward to learning more.

Want to read some more letters? Ten more pages...
