I'm Home

by Kayla Tremmel

As I walk in the woods,

I cry out to the heavens.

"I’m lost", I say.

"How do I get home?"

I hear a voice out of nowhere,

"Look inside your heart...that is the way."

As I walk in the woods,

I see a face.

A face I don’t recognize.

"Who are you?"

"Where am I?"

"Do not worry, my little one.

You are safe with me.

I will take you home.

"A home where there is no more pain.

A home where there is no more sorrow.

Come! Do not be scared.

I will not harm you,

For I am someone very special.

I will take you to a special place."

As I walk in the woods,

She keeps me safe.

She leads me home.
