Hi! I'm EmaLee. Thanks for visiting

Hi, my name is EmaLee, I was six years old when I wrote this, in 2002, and I was in the first grade. I like to play with my brothers and sisters. I have two brothers and four sisters. I like to ride my bike, and jump on the trampoline. Something weird is, I like to take naps. What I mean is, I have problems with my head and I feel better when I take a nap.

The whole thing started a way long time ago, when I was only five, and I got sick. I felt very hot and sleepy all of the time. My head hurt really bad. I had to spend a bunch of nights in the hospital. It wasn’t fun because of all the pokes and tests. I cried a lot in the hospital. Sometimes I cried in the night. My brothers and sisters visited me and we watched a movie. I cried when they left. The only things OK about being there were watching TV, getting a stuffed puppy to snuggle with named Lady, and going from place to place in a red wagon with a special IV pole. Finally I got to leave the hospital but I still felt sick for a long time. The doctors talked to my parents using words like Encephalitis and Pseudo Tumor Cerebri. But really, no one could tell why I was sick.

Now, I still get headaches. When I go to school, sometimes my head hurts. I feel like crying but I don’t want the other kids to look at me. They are always staring at me when I go to tell the teacher that my head hurts. This makes me feel shy; I don’t want everyone looking at me. My Mommy picks me up everyday at lunch so I can go home and take a nap, then she takes me back to school. Sometimes kids ask me where I go at lunch, I don’t answer them, because I don’t want them to make fun of me.

My favorite thing about school is all of it, except I don’t like spelling words too much. I don’t really like it when it gets loud and rowdy. I really like recess, I like to do the monkey bars and play with my friends. My best friends are Caisley, Maddie, and Ashley. That’s because they are nice to me and we have fun. They even understand when I just want to play quietly. and they don’t make fun of me.

Guess what? We have a new plan to try to get rid of my headaches. My Mommy still picks me up from school at lunch time but I don't go back after my long nap. Instead, she brings the afternoon work home and I do it after dinner. Much better, but I still really want the headaches to go away completely. I do not like them one bit.

Thanks for surfing to my page. If you have any questions, you can write to me, and I'll tell you the answers if I can. In the meantime, I thought you'd like to see a picture of me and my sisters and brothers!
