Eric Delson is Professor and former Chair of Anthropology at Lehman. He is also a Professor in the Anthropology, Biology (Ecology & Evolution section) and Earth and Environmental Sciences Ph. D. Programs at the CUNY Graduate School and Coordinator for Physical Anthropology in the first of these. In addition, he is a Research Associate in the Department of Vertebrate Paleontology at the American Museum of Natural History and the Director of NYCEP (the New York Consortium in Evolutionary Primatology).

He received his BA in Physics from Harvard College and Ph. D. in Geology (Vertebrate Paleontology) from Columbia University. He is a paleoanthropologist with special interest in the paleontology and evolution of humans, apes and Old World monkeys. Among his current research projects are: description and analysis of the European fossil monkey Paradolichopithecus; and studies of 3D morphology of joint surfaces in modern apes and fossil humans by laser scanning and geometric morphometrics.
