Research & Evaluation

Through all of its efforts, the ILS is immersed in the day-to-day reality of educators in public schools, after-school programs, and adult education classes across the city. As a research institute, the ILS has responsibilities that extend beyond our extensive work in staff development and school improvement. Our research and evaluation activities consider the implications of our methods and result in dissemination of findings from our work not only with teachers and administrators but also with a wider community of educators and policy analysts.

Over the past five years, our research and evaluation activities have included:

Teacher Inquiry and Classroom-based Research

Developing and Field-Testing Instructional Materials
Program Evaluations
Educational Reform Efforts

External Studies of Our Work
