Collaborations and Partnerships

ETN provides services across a district and to consortiums of schools. We are currently offering courses for teachers and administrators from small elementary schools in the Empowerment Zone. Our consultants are providing site-based support in four of these Empowerment Zone schools.

From 1999-2001 ETN was the professional development provider for a Goals 2000 partnership with three schools in Community School District 9 focused on art and literacy, and with ten schools in District 75 focused on developing literacy-rich classroom environments.

Staff from ETN are in working collaborations with Lehman College's Writing Across the Curriculum Initiative; The Prospect Archive and Center for Education and Research in North Bennington, Vermont; the Center for Urban Educators at Long Island University; and IN DEFENSE OF CHILDHOOD: The New York City Campaign to Restore Creative Play and Hands-on Learning in Preschools and Kindergartens.

From 1996-2002 ETN was one of nine participating New York City professional-development organizations in the Students at the Center Project, a program in three cities across the United States funded by the DeWitt Wallace-Readers Digest Fund and the Hayden Foundation.

ETN has collaborated with schools in the following NYC Department of Education regions: Region 9 (Districts 1, 2, 4, and 7), Region 1 (Districts 9 and 10), and Region 10 (Districts 5 and 6). We have also done extensive work with District 75. ETN site-based consultants have worked in both neighborhood and alternative schools in these regions/districts.
