Class
The Internet class is offered to ABE, ESL and GED attending students in
the program. The class consists of students who have some experience or very little
experience using the computer/Internet. The class runs from September-June (cycle
1-3).
The class covers various topics about the Internet:
-How it works, and how it can benefit students.
-How to use web browsers (Internet Explorer and Netscape Communicator)
-Web-based email functions
(e.g. Yahoo)
- How to effectively search for information on the World Wide Web
-Some interesting and useful sites on the World Wide Web
In addition, the class use selected Internet-related articles that
students read and respond to, enhancing their reading and writing skills.
The students also develop their own web pages using basic HTML that they
type manually on Notepad.
