The Jaime Lucero Mexican Studies Institute at CUNY is proud to announce its fourth annual conference: ¡Amor! Más allá de las fronteras. The conference seeks to create a forum for U.S. and Mexican scholars, artists and community organizers to engage in a dialogue about all aspects related to the issue of love and human relations in the context of migration and the U.S.-Mexican border. The 2015 conference is the third in a planned trilogy on the topics “¡Salud, Dinero y Amor!” as expressed in the classic celebratory toast.

Our keynote speaker Sergio Troncoso, is an acclaimed writer of essays, short stories, and novels, and the author of five books. Among the numerous awards he has won are the Premio Aztlan Literary Prize, Southwest Book Award,  Bronze Award for Essays from ForeWord Reviews, and International Latino Book Award.

Conference Organizers:

Daniel R. Fernández, Ph.D., Acting Director

Shareny Díaz-Saldaña, Administrative Coordinator
