Alexandra Cordero is completing her last semester at Hostos Community College, where she is majoring in community health. In addition, she recently concluded an internship at the CUNY Institute for Health Equity. As an intern, she participated in numerous projects, including Food Day and the Infant Mortality Project.
In recognition of her outstanding academic accomplishments, Cordero was awarded the Ernesto Malave National Puerto Rican Day Award's Certificate of Excellence. Subsequently, Cordero was offered the research assistant position at CIHE, where she is working on the Bronx Birth project. She is planning to continue her studies at Lehman and hopes to become a health educator, and educate her community about health equity and disparities.
