Loisaida Inc is a nonprofit organization servicing youth and promoting economic development, founded in 1979. The festival, always celebrated the Sunday before Memorial Day, has evolved into the largest Latino pride festival in the area.It is presented in the Avenue C commercial corridor-renamed Loisaida Avenue in 1989. The Festival includes diverse manifestations of Puerto Rican and Latinocultures expressed through music, cuisine, and the arts. The program includes musical concerts, dance, and theatre performances, as well as arts & crafts exhibitions.
