Welcome to the Counseling Center

The Counseling Center at Lehman College (Old Gym Bldg Rm 114) is a safe place for students to talk about any concerns they may have. Services are free and confidential and provided in a safe environment where students can address issues that may be keeping them from attaining their academic goals. All students are treated with respect and are seen as individuals with unique strengths.

Our Mission

The mission of the Counseling Center is to assist students with emotional, developmental, and psychological concerns that may be affecting their personal and academic growth. Our goal is to assist students in coping with the challenges of college and life in a productive, healthy manner.

Special Programming for Freshman and Transfer Students

The Counseling Center is offering special programming to help ease adjustment to Lehman College for Transfer and Freshman Students. We understand how difficult the transition to college can be for those students entering Lehman for the first time. Whether you enter Lehman sure about your major or questioning what career you are interested in, everyone wants to be a success. In the workshop Lehman G.P.S. (goals, priorities, success) you will learn how to create short and long term goals to get you to graduation on time. You will also learn about the resources Lehman has available to help you for free!

Special Event! Take Back the Night

take back the nightOn Tuesday April 24th Lehman College will be hosting its annual Take Back The Night event, honoring those impacted by Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence through survivor stories, artistic expression, a campus walk and candlelight vigil. This year’s keynote speaker is Lydia Cuomo, NYC Public School teacher and advocate for the “Rape is Rape” bill. A community resource fair will be held on campus walk from 2-5 pm. The program begins in the Lovinger Theater at 5 pm and ends with a candlelight walk and vigil. Both campus and NYC community members are invited to attend this free event.

 
Participate in Research to win a Kindle!

The Counseling Center is partnering with Student Life in a study to understand student attitudes and leadership. Participation takes less than 30 minutes!
