Student Bios
Amber-Lynn Burns
is 16 and entering her senior year at Riverdale-Kingsbridge Academy.
When she receives her diploma, she intends to pursue a college degree
and is finding the "College Now" Program beneficial. She enjoys
activities that bring out her creativity and as such is very glad to be
a part of this production.
Ashley Cho-Quang-Sam
is 16 years old and attends the Felisa Rincon de Gautier Institute for
Law and Public Policy. Ashley spends most of her time doing college
research and sampling different fields that she might want to pursue as
a career. Theatre is a little out of her comfort zone, but she wanted
to try something out of the ordinary and is enjoying the challenges
that come with new adventures.
Isaac Cobinnah is entering his junior year at
Discovery High School. Isaac enjoys the field of arts and
entertainment, particularly the areas of comedy and action movies, as
well as music. Outside of the arts, Isaac likes both soccer and
basketball. His favorite teams are Manchester United and the Lakers.
Judith Devora is 18 years old and has a passion for
dancing, acting, fashion, and makeup. Dancing became a part of her life
from dancing the bachata and merengue – a part of her Dominican
heritage. She found her love for acting in her freshmen year at the
Bronx Center for Science and Mathematics, where she performed in 4
productions. Her interest in fashion developed from seeing dancers' and
actors' wardrobe and make up.
Claudio Flores is 17 years old and will be entering
his senior year at DeWitt Clinton High School. When Claudio finishes
high school he plans to attend college, where he will major in history.
Claudio is also interested in many sports, but is partial to baseball.
Donneille Foster is 16 years old and will be going
into her senior year of the Macy Honors Program at Dewitt Clinton High
School. Her favorite subjects are history, social sciences, and
English. She enjoys playing music, creating visual art and
participating in sports, particularly soccer.
Viviana Moreira is 15 years old and is of Ecuadorian
descent. She attends Theatre Arts Production Company School. Viviana
has a passion for art and the imagination of the human mind. She has
high expectations for herself and would like to pursue a career at
NASA. She would like to see what most people can only imagine.
Rosangelica Perez is 17 years old, is of Dominican
descent, and currently attends the Bronx Center for Science and
Mathematics. She has previously performed in other productions, but
wished to use her passion for math and science to operate the show
instead of performing. The "College Now" program has allowed
Roseangelica to accomplish this in a way she had not thought of before.
Jefiny Marte is 16 years old and attends Renaissance
High School. She enjoys participating in both gymnastics and
cheerleading. Her favorite pastime is star gazing at her home in
Pennsylvania. Jefiny also adores being an aunt to her niece Briana.
Stephanie Pernas is 15 years old and is entering her
sophomore year at Theatre Arts Production Company School. She has a
particular interest in the area of Visual Arts. In her future,
Stephanie would like to pursue a career as a lawyer.
Amanda-Rae Williams is 16years old and currently
attends High School for Contemporary Arts in the Bronx. She moved to
the New York from the St. Catherine, Jamaica. She takes a particular
interest in the arts because she believes it is the way we can best
express ourselves.
Shelby Wright is a singer, dancer, and artist. She
also designs clothing and hand bags. She attends school at Pelham Prep.
While Shelby normally enjoys being seen on stage, she wanted a change
of pace this summer and chose to work behind the scenes. Her interests
in the arts and fashion has changed her life.
Laura Cornish serves as adjunct faculty for Lehman
College, CUNY in the theatre program. Outside of her teaching at the
university, she is a freelance lighting designer and stage manager for
both theatre and dance. She also serves as the resident lighting
designer for Mile Square Theatre in Hoboken, NJ. Design credits
include: Rhythm Suites (American Dance Festival), Three Penny Opera
(Princeton Festival), Guys and Dolls (MSAI), Phoenix Fabrik (Mountain
Theatre Project) I'll Have What She's Having (YWCA Dance Princeton),
Proof (Skyline Theatre Company), A Christmas Carol and My Italy Story
(MST), and Betty's Summer Vacation (eXit Productions). Laura has
previously been honored by the American College Theatre Festival and
the United States Institute of Theatre Technology. She has greatly
enjoyed fostering the wonderful creativity of the students in the
Visual Elements of Theatre class.
