Winter in Mexico

Description: The Lehman Global Scholars will spend 10 days in Puebla, Mexico furthering the production of a film project entitled “¡Salud! Myths and Reality of Mexican Immigrant Health“ Professor David Schwittek who teaches in the art department will be leading this program.  The course covers current documentary research methodologies, basic technical skills required for digital video production (camera operation, lighting, sound, etc.), narrative strategies, and creative thinking.

Where: Puebla, Mexico

Dates: The program ran from January 14th to January 24th, 2015. Dates for next year's winter sesions are to be announced.

Prerequisites: This opportunity is open to all currently enrolled CUNY students. Non-Lehman students will be responsible for airfare as well as tuition and fees.  There is a minimum GPA requirement of 3.2.  Interested students must receive preliminary approval from Professor David Schwittek.

Feature: The program covers the cost of airfare, lodging, excursion, and site visits.  Scholars are expected to cover the cost of tuition (3 credits), international student insurance (aprox. $35), and meals.
