All these courses can be used to fulfill the Natural Science distribution requirement

Courses for science/math majors:

  • PHY 166/167 - Two-semester Introductory Physics (algebra based) [Each 6 hours (4, lecture; 2, lab), 5 credits]
  • PHY 168/169 - Two-semester Introductory Physics (calculus based, for pre-engineering and physics students) [Each 6 hours (4, lecture; 2, lab), 5 credits]

General education courses:

  • PHY 135 - Fundamental Concepts and Methods of Physics [5 hours (3, lecture; 2, lab), 4 credits]
  • PHY 140 - Physics of Sound [5 hours (3, lecture; 2, lab), 4 credits]
  • AST 117 - Astronomy of Stellar Systems [5 hours (3, lecture; 2, lab), 4 credits]
  • AST 136 - Astronomy of the Solar System [5 hours (3, lecture; 2, lab), 4 credits]

Pathways common core:

  • PHY 131 - Conceptual Physics [3 hours (2, lecture; 1, lab), 3 credits]
  • PHY 141 - Sound, Speech, and Music [3 hours (2, lecture; 1, lab), 3 credits]
  • PHY 151 - Energy and the Environment [3 hours (2, lecture; 1, lab), 3 credits]
