To help school professionals fulfill Department of Education requirements for staff development and licensure, the School of Continuing and Professional Studies offers a variety of workshops. You only need complete each of these workshops once; they do not expire

DASA Training

Harassment, Bullying, Cyberbullying and Discrimination in Schools: Prevention and Intervention

This 6-hour, fact-to-face course satisfies the New York State requirement for course work or training in harassment, bullying, cyberbullying and discrimination prevention and intervention under the Dignity for All Students Act.

Intensive Teacher Certification Prep

Courses are specifically designed to assist students to pass the New York State certification examinations. Visit www.nystce.nesinc.com/ to register for exam and to choose the CUNY on the Concourse Testing Center.

ALST Academic Literacy Skills Prep

This interactive ALST prep workshop covers all aspects of the exam -- reading comprehension multiple choice and all required writing tasks. Approaches, guidelines, models and examples will be presented for discussion. Extensive reading and writing practice will be done so that attendees will know what to expect when they take the exam and how to continue their preparation and practice on their own.
