NEW EARN YOUR GED& LEARN A CAREER

We are offering for the first time a unique course that prepares you for the High School Equivalency Exam (GED) and at the same time gives you the fundamentals for entry-level jobs in information technology. Our course will prepare you for the Comp TIA A+ Computer Technicians certification examination.

We call this type of learning “contextualized” which means we teach math and English skills through the material used in the computer course. It’s all connected. Two programs and two teachers work together to help prepare you for the GED exam and the Comp TIA A+ Computer Technicians certification examination.

For the Comp TIA A+ Computer Technician program you will spend time in a computer classroom learning such topics installation, maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting of computer hardware and operating systems; safe lab practice and tool use; computer assembly and disassembly; the boot process; installation and configuration of portable devices and peripherals; introduction to networking; and the types, consequences and prevention of security threats.

At the end of the semester you will be able to take both the GED examination and the certification examination right at Lehman.
