Jazz Festival concluded, will air on Bronxnet!
Lehman's Third Annual Jazz Festival: The Johnny Pacheco Latin Music and Jazz Festival at Lehman College ran from Wednesday, November 16 to Friday, November 18. Many middle and high school Jazz and Latin ensembles from around the region performed during the daytime sessions, with special guest performances on Thursday and Friday evenings by Leslie Lewis and Gerard Hagen, The Terry Silverlight Band, The Pacheco Festival Jazz Quintet, The Curtis High School Jazz Band, The Zaccai Curtis Quartet, and The Lehman College Jazz Band. Distinguished Artist Recognition awards for lifelong contributions to Jazz and Latin music were given to Larry Ridley, Frank Foster (posthumous), Johnny Pacheco, and Andy Gonzalez.
The evening concerts were video recorded by Bronxnet, and will be broadcast Winter 2011/12!

Jazz Festival named for Johnny Pacheco
The Third Annual Lehman Jazz Festival will officially be called The Johnny Pacheco Latin Music and Jazz Festival at Lehman College. A prolific musician, Mr. Pacheco has received nine Grammy nominations, ten Gold records, and numerous other awards, including the Bobby Capo Lifetime Achievement Award, the Dominican Republic's Presidential Medal of Honor, and the First International Dominican Artist Award from the Casandra Awards. In Spring 2011, he received an honorary Doctorate from Lehman College.
