Xavier Totti is the editor of the academic journal CENTRO: Journal of the Center for Puerto Rican Studies and the editor in chief of the eMagazine Centro Voices . CENTRO Journal is an award winning journal, the premier journal on Puerto Rican studies and a leading journal in Latino Studies. Formerly he was the director of Lehman’s Bilingual Program.

Puerto Rican culture, Puerto Ricans in the United States, student activism, Latinos in the United States, Brazil, Migration, Politics

Research:

The political organization and cultural constructions of Puerto Ricans in the United States.

Publications

Totti has published on issues relating to health in Puerto Rico, political myths in Brazil, Puerto Rican political activism in the United States, the political organization of squatters in Puerto Rico, Latino identity and Puerto Rican anthropology in the following journals:  Revista de Salud Pública de Puerto Rico, Journal of Folklore Research, CENTRO: Journal of the Center for Puerto Rican Studies, Raízes: Revista de Ciências Sociais e Econômicas, Dissent, The Portable Lower East Side, and Caribbean Studies.
