Faculty: Amy A. Larimer
Amy
Larimer is a dance/theater artist and teacher. She graduated Phi Beta
Kappa from Connecticut College and received her M.F.A. from the
University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. She was a founding member of
Nicholas Leichter Dance and toured internationally with the company for
eight years. She has also performed with Clare Byrne, Daniel Clifton,
Colin Connor, Aaron Draper, Polina Klimovitskaya, Patricia Nanon and
Debra Wanner. Her own work blends movement, sound and text and draws
heavily on improvisation. She is the director of The Raving Jaynes, a
group which uses improvisational structures from dance and comedy to
create fully improvised works of dance/theater. Her work has been
presented at a variety of venues including The 92nd Street Y, Caroline's
Comedy Club, Dixon Place, The Flynn Center, Gotham Comedy Club, DTW,
HERE, Joe’s Pub, The Joyce Soho, The Kaufman Theater, The Nuyorican
Poets Café, P.S. 122, The Rhinebeck Performing Arts Center, Triskelion
Arts, The Westbank Theater and The West End Theater. She is also a
certified yoga teacher.
