Objectives to Meet This Goal:
Demonstrate knowledge of global theatre history
Demonstrate knowledge of dramatic genres and styles, and their historical and cultural contexts
Demonstrate the ability to analyze a script
Demonstrate the ability to write critically about text and/or performance
Demonstrate the ability to conduct research to support scholarly writing about theatre
Learning Goal 2: (Develop the capacity to create theatrical work and present it in a public context)
Objectives to Meet This Goal:
To achieve this goal, students must achieve one of the following objectives at the mastery level:
Acting Track: Demonstrate the ability to apply theoretical and practical knowledge to theatrical production
Directing Track: Demonstrate the ability to devise original work and implement its presentation
Production Design Track: Demonstrate the ability to apply theoretical and practical knowledge to theatrical production
Playwriting Track: Demonstrate the ability to write creatively
Dramatic Literature Track: Demonstrate the ability to write critically about text and/or performance
Theatre Management Track: Demonstrate theoretical and practical knowledge of administrative aspects of theatre
