Lehman College Reception for UNITY 2012 Convention
Dear Lehman Mass Communication and Journalism alumni,
On Wednesday, March 28, we want you to come back home!
Lehman College and UNITY: Journalists of Color are co-hosting a networking reception for New York City area minority journalists and we invite you to join us!
The event, from 7 to 9 p.m. in our Multimedia Center, will serve as a preview of the UNITY 2012 Convention at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on August 1-4. It will give us at Lehman an opportunity to showcase the Multimedia Center and our new journalism program for the New York media. It also gives us an opportunity to invite you back and show you what we have been doing since you’ve been gone!
Depending on how long ago you graduated, you may be aware that in the past two years, we inaugurated the $16-million Multimedia Center and totally transformed our Multilingual Journalism and Mass Communication majors into two new majors that are much more aligned with the media challenges of the 21st century: Multimedia Journalism and Multimedia Studies. We want you to see you it works!
Our main speaker will be Unity President Joanna Hernandez, who is an editor at the Washington Post. But it will be mostly an open-house reception, where our guests will be able so see exhibits of the work our students are doing in the Multimedia Center, and our alumni will find new reasons to feel proud of their Lehman roots.
I write on behalf of the Lehman JCT faculty to express our heartfelt desire to see our former students again. Come greet your former professors and classmates and take advantage of this opportunity to network with many of the city’s media professionals.
The Multimedia Center in located in the B level of Carman Hall, 250 Bedford Park Blvd. West, in the Bronx.
If you want to network with NYC journalists, all you have to do is come back home to Lehman.
