Adjuncts: Laura Peterson
Laura Peterson is a NYC-based dance artist and Artistic Director of Laura Peterson Choreography. The company has had residencies and commissions at the Queens Museum of Art, Dance New Amsterdam, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Sitelines 2010 and Swing Space (2009-2010) and received two Mondo Cane! commissions at Dixon Place. Her dances have been presented in New York at venues including Dance Theater Workshop, PS 122, Danspace Project, Symphony Space, Joe’s Pub, HERE and many others. She is currently commissioned by the HERE Artist-in-Residence Program (HARP) for the development of her series Wooden. Laura’s choreography has been produced internationally in Europe, Argentina and throughout the US. Her work has been performed at Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival Inside/Out, Philadelphia’s NEW Festival, Goose Route Dance Festival and The International Contemporary Dance Festival in Bytom, Poland. Laura has been commissioned by Pennsylvania Ballet, Hartford Ballet, DROP Dance in Boise, ID. and has made dances for NYU’s Tisch School Dance Department. Laura has received support from the Greenwall Foundation, Trust for Mutual Understanding, Brooklyn Arts Council, Bossak/Heilbron Charitable Foundation, the Puffin Foundation and Pennsylvania Arts Council. Laura’s performance credits include Julie Taymor’s film, Across The Universe, choreographed by Daniel Ezralow, as well as Risa Jaroslow & Dancers, Poppo & the GoGo Boys, Paule Turner, Group Motion Dance Co, Asimina Chremos, Eun Jung Choi and others. She holds an M.F.A. in dance from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and a B.F.A. in Modern Dance from University of the Arts. Please visit LPchoreography.com.
